    (Seven Years War) 1856 (Sep. 4) Unionville Pa. to Chester Pa., mourning cover bearing 3¢ dull red (11) tied by "Unionville Pa. Sep 4" cds with a detailed six-page letter recounts location of writer's house and farm relative to major battle and encampments of the Seven Years War, and gunpowder sample in folded buff paper (now attached) from British Major General Braddack's defeat by the French at the Monongahela River (Ohio) on July 9, 1755, Braddack had the gunpowder buried in a glass bottle when he retreated and the letter indicates this sample had been recovered by a "mountaineer who had been digging near Dunbar's camp and had found it", Col. Washington was a consultant during this campaign; cover tear, F.-V.F. and unusual.
