    Leeds & Franklin Patent Envelope, envelope with Type IA with "#" bars lattice pattern, bearing 3¢ ultramarine (114) , affixed partially over lattice and tied by split cork cancel duplexed with "Utica N.Y. Jun 8" circa 1869 cds to Cooperstown, N.Y.; cover restored, Fine appearance, ex-Wunsch, Pinch ; with 1968 P.F. certificate.

    ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED 1869 USAGES ON A LEEDS PATENT ENVELOPE, THIS BEING THE LATEST RECORDED USE OF A LEEDS ENVELOPE.

    The two recorded 1869 Issue uses are from the same correspondence, the other used only 4 days earlier.

    Leeds & Franklin Patent Envelope, envelope assembled in reverse with Type IA with "#" bars lattice pattern and blind embossed "Pat. June" beneath, bearing 3¢ rose (65) affixed partially over lattice and tied by split cork cancel, matching "Old Point Comfort Va. Jun 14" double-circle datestamp to Oxford Wisc., docketed as containing "Passes of Tho. S. Johnson" at left; partial lattice, reduced slightly at left, F.-V.F., only two recorded Leeds patent envelopes assembled in reverse .

    Leeds & Franklin Patent Envelope, envelope with Type IA with "#" bars lattice pattern, bearing 3¢ rose (65) affixed improperly adjacent to lattice, canceled by small square cork, matching partial Sep. 8th town cds to Poughkeepsie N.Y., tied by bold "Fernandina Fla. Jun 2 '64" cds duplex addressed to Cortland N.Y.; bottom stamp torn as Leeds patent intended, reduced slightly at right, Very Fine.

    Patent Envelope, patent envelope with 14 holes on back bearing 3¢ dull red (11) , full margins to in, tied by "Manchester N.H. May 20, 1857" cds to Tunbridge Vt., very unusual, accompanied by Chronicle article from the Cover Corner section showing another similar with hypothesis as to their meaning, Very Fine.
