    1893, 3¢ Columbian, tied by " Worlds Fair Sta., Chicago, Ill. Oct 5 '93 " World's Fair duplex on J.A. Pierce cover with blue Civil War Flag patriotic design (Weiss F-L-111), Very Fine and attractive.

    1893, 4¢ Columbian, diagonal bisect , uncanceled, pink " Due 2 Cents " circular handstamp and "New York, P, Dec 20 '93" duplex on cover to local address, reverse with Dec. 20th and 21st backstamp, Very Fine and scarce unaccepted bisect use.

    1893, 15¢ Columbian, deep rich color, tied by well-struck " U.S. Postal Agency, Shanghai, Feb 24 12M 94 " duplex datestamp on registered cover to New York, straightline purple "Registered No." handstamp, reverse with San Francisco (3.20) transit and New York (3.26) arrival backstamps; two trivial toned perfs, Very Fine and attractive Shanghai use, ex-Tows, Gibson .

    1894, 5¢ chocolate, two singles tied by two bold "Washington D.C. Mar 20 '95" duplex on legal-size Department of Labor penalty mail cover to Liverpool, England for the Editor of the Labour Annual, bold red Liverpool Paid (3.30) arrival cds, Very Fine.

    In 1888, the Interior Department Bureau of Labor became the independent Department of Labor. It lacked executive rank, but still had penalty franking privilege. Department of Labor covers to foreign destinations are very scarce since its functions were almost exclusively domestic.

    1895, 1¢ blue, D.L. watermark, strip of three and pair, tied by two sharp strikes of " U.S. Postal Agency, Shanghai, Oct 23 '97 " duplexes on 1897 cover to Cincinnati Ohio; one 1¢ slight abrasion, Very Fine and attractive 1¢ Bureau franking from Shanghai, China.

Edw. J. Abbott, Postmaster's notation "Out of .1 & .2 $ G.H.P." at top right where rest of stamp would have been; reduced at left, otherwise Very Fine.

    1895, 5¢ chocolate, D.L. watermark, strip of three, used with 1¢ blue (264) strip of three , all tied by multiple strikes of "U.s. Postal Agency, Shanghai, Nov 13 '97" duplexes on registered legal-size American Bible Society imprint cover to Camden N.J., purple "Registered No." two-line handstamp, original letterhead enclosure indicating Chinese stamp order enclosed; reduced slightly at left and small edge flaw at bottom, otherwise Very Fine and scarce Bureau registered use from Shanghai, China.
