'3' May 23 integral-cds on buff cover with blue embossed "Degraff & Kendrick, Engine Boiler Machine, Detroit" shield cameo corner card illustrated with engine bearing 3¢ dull red (11A) , margins to barely in, tied by grid cancel to New York N.Y., Very Fine and attractive Lake Steamboat cameo use.

    Columbia (Atlantic Ocean), detailed gray overall design of the "Steamer Columbia" on "Office of White's Line of Steamers" corner card cover bearing 2¢ vermilion (183) tied by "New York, PO, Jun 22 '82" duplex to local New York City street address; tiny edge tear, reduced slightly at right, Very Fine and rare, only two recorded examples .

    Steamer Manitowoc, Goodrich Transp'n Co., Jun 6, 1870, blue double-oval packet datestamp on 3¢ pink (U59) buff entire to Waukesha, Wisc., entered mails with "Chicago, Ill. Jun 6" duplex with matching " Steamboat " straightline and "Due 3" in circle handstamp; small opening flaws at top, Very Fine and rare Lake Superior packet, the Milgram listing example .

    From St. Bt. Monroe, red oval handstamp on gray folded cover with dateline "Troy Miss. March 25th 1851" from the Buchanan Carroll & Co. correspondence from Mississippi to New Orleans La., endorsed "per Str Monroe" at top left, Very Fine and choice, ex-Milgram .

    The "Monroe" of 183 tons was built at New Albany in 1848 for Isaiah King, Capt. Samuel Gwartney also acted as Master for this steamboat.
